just waiting for something bad to happen

Covet Me is the second installment to Belle and Smith's story. If you have not read Crave Me, hurry and get on it and do not read any more of this review. Covet Me begins where Crave Me left off, that major cliffy that we were shocked with. Smith was married! If he has a relationship with Belle, how can he keep this a secret from her? Smith has deep dark secrets, they are very dangerous ones. What happens now that Belle is caught up in Smith's web of deceit and lies? Is Belle in danger? Covet Me is one of those books where you have your hand on your chest the entire time, just waiting for something bad to happen. The angst will keep you on your toes, flipping page after page to find out what happens next. Smith is a mystery, but he's so charming, how can Belle ever steer clear of a man like him?

I fell a little more in love with Smith and I may have a girl crush on Belle. She's a hard working, strong woman with a good head on her shoulders. She's a no non-sense kind of girl and will do anything for those she loves. Geneva Lee has brought us two characters we can't help but love and root for on this crazy journey of theirs. I just hope Smith and Belle can somehow get their happily ever after one day. Don't expect any fluff, Covet Me is full of danger and it's ohhhh so delicious! I may or may not have sent some nasty messages to the author at the end for her evil ways of stringing us along on this wild journey full of hope, love and danger. Hold on tight, this will be a very bumpy ride. Capture Me releases in December and I'm already counting the days until it's in my greedy little hands.

Belle and Smith are sneaking around in order to keep Belle safe from Hammond, but they can't stay away from each other. Their lust and love consume them, leaving them craving each other's touch, presence, next breath. But what happens when their plot to hide from Hammond fails? What happens when the other puppet masters are pulling strings and demanding their separation. How will they cope?

Belle is fully immersed in bringing Bless to fruition with the help of her friend. Her biggest dreams are just within reach. Smith is so close from his freedom from Hammond he can almost taste it. But will he?

The writing is magnificent; seducing you from page one and leaving you breathless. The pages are filled with adrenaline evoking suspense that will have you holding on tight for this emotional roller coaster ride and never wanting to get off. The ending left so many loose ends that I will be eagerly awaiting December just to get another taste of this author's brilliance.

OMG you have outdone yourself Geneva Lee with this book! Let me say I started off disliking Smith at the start of this book. By the end you will fall back in love with him. It does have some major twist! This book far exceeded my expectations. I own everyone of her books. This is one seems to be the very best!

Great little book

As an avid reader of self-help books, I appreciate when a writer does what he or she set out to do without trying to pad the book with useless non-sense just to increase the page count. And this book is a perfect example of a book with a purpose that gets to its point quickly, gives the information it promises and then tells you what to do in a straight-up way. Confidence is very important in almost every aspect of our lives, yet many people are struggling to find it. People who lack self-confidence can find it difficult to become successful. The first part of the book is very unique and reading it reminded me the song ‘Ironic’ by Alanis Morissette. This book contains a lot of arguments that can change our beliefs and give us realization. The author includes exercises that can help us in our journey to building confidence.

I fully agree with the phrase in this book “If you want to achieve confidence, all that is needed is desire, the openness to explore new ideas, and the willingness release any sense of “trying” to become more confident”. Confidence can be learned and built on.

What I have learned in reading the book is that becoming confident is readily achievable, just as long as we can accept ourselves for who we are and we have the focus and determination to carry things through.

About the Author
Emerson Eggerichs was the senior pastor of East Lansing’s thriving Trinity Church before launching the Love and Respect Conferences in August 1999, and devoting himself full-time to building healthy marriages. Dr. Eggerichs has a M.A. in communications from Wheaton College, a Masters of Divinity from Dubuque Seminary, and a Ph.D. in child and family ecology from Michigan State University. He and his wife, Sarah, live in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and have three adult children. He is the president of Love and Respect Ministries.

Excellent book! I highly recommend it! This book explains how men and women interpret what is being verbalized differently. Women can learn how what they say may be negatively targeting a man's most deepest need for respect without realizing it, thus hurting him beyond their comprehension. Very enlightening, this couple does a fantastic job of elaborating how the genders look at things differently. Different is not bad necessarily, just different. There is value added when the differences can be appreciated and understood. Use them to your advantage!

The subject matter in this book I have not ever heard discussed anywhere else, ever.

It is a hard cover book, really great for discussion groups. I learned a lot reading this and then discussing it with others.

Finally! A resource for visual learners!!

I've purchased several other study/review books to help me in nursing school but I think this is the one. I saw an ad for this book this summer and I got so excited! It has the same info as other study/review books but the pictures, colors, and spacing makes it much easier for me to focus. I can't stand reading plain black and white single-spaced text! This book has enough colors to keep my attention but not so much that it looks like a Pre-K book. This is first book that broke down DIC (disseminated intravascular coagulation) in a way that made sense to me.

About the Author

Manfred te Grotenhuis (PhD, Sociology, Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands) is an associate professor of quantitative data analysis at Radboud University Nijmegen and an affiliate of the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS). He does research and teaching in inferential statistics, age-period-cohort models, multilevel modeling, event history analysis, and SPSS syntax. Grotenhuis has published extensively in a wide variety of journals, including the American Journal of Sociology, American Sociological Review, Demography, and the International Journal of Epidemiology. He has been teaching statistics to students at Radboud University Nijmegen since 1995 and has written several introductory books on SPSS and statistics. Grotenhuis is the recipient of his university's biennial teaching award.

Anneke Matthijssen (MSc in Educational Sciences, Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands) first had a career as a medical analyst. During her study and after graduating from the Radboud University, she was involved in teaching statistics. Since 2008 she has been working as a policy�adviser/institutional researcher�in�the�Strategy and Development�Department�at�Radboud University. In this position, Matthijssen provides the board and faculties with management information on education and research. She is also chairwoman of the Dutch Association for Institutional Researchers in which policy advisers of all Dutch universities are organized.�

Very basic introduction to SPSS. The title is incredibly accurate. Very straight forward book that is easy to understand. It provides a very basic step-by-step guide to SPSS. Great for a beginner or for teaching an introductory methods course. It also has uses in an online environment or 50-50 split course. It would also serve a purpose for a grad student teaching the lab section of a stats course. Overall, it has uses in an introductory sense.

Curioser and Curioser

This is an odd book. Ostensibly about curiosity, Manguel uses this concept as a springboard for whatever takes his fancy, presumably organized by themes that make the title of each of the chapters.

On top of this nominal framework, the whole enterprise is diffused through the prism of Dante's Commedia. Why? Apparently Manguel becomes obsessed with various books at different points in his life, and discovering the riches of Dante later in life, he is currently immersed thinking through that great work, and by extension, so are we.

His tangents are often fascinating, sometimes less so, often seemingly tethered by the merest thread to the topic on hand. A chapter on the representation of thought by writing veers off into the Inca way of representing thought by a series of knots organized by shape and color known as quipu. A chapter on How Do We Question concentrates on various medieval commentators on the Talmud.

This book doesn't rigorously explore the concept of curiosity so much as embody its workings in the author.The reader travels along with him on his intellectual and often literary explorations, sometimes leading to open vistas, sometimes down a cul-de-sac. This is a frequently enlightening, usually entertaining journey, so long as there isn't any place you are in a hurry to get to.

Dante and much more

Although the core of the book is Manguel's interpretation of Dante's Commedia, the author ranges over a variety of wider topics which he eventually relates to Dante. He relates his life experience to the larger questions raised by Dante. For me, it was the sort of book that articulates more clearly thoughts floating around in my less organized thoughts. At the same time, it expands on them and provides a firm basis for further thoughts. An excellent read!

Peter Sheahan, Group CEO and Founder of global consultancy Karrikins Group, is known internationally for his innovative business thinking and thought leadership. Solving for the ultimate questions around what defines value, how to capture it, and more importantly how to bring attention to it is a business topic researched and written about more than often than most. Too often the writing is sophomoric, a retread of other musings, or much too conceptual.

This book, on the other hand, seems to get it right. There is rarely a straight line to finding new value, much less marketing it to your customers and clients. This book brings several fresh and provocative perspectives to the table, but not necessarily in the sense that if you just follow their formula it will all come together.

Moving from decades in the corporate world to my own consulting practice a few years ago impressed upon me the important but often missed phenomenon of the ‘echo chamber’. As much as we try to get above the fray and find perspective, day –to-day pressures of needing to ‘pay the mortgage’ too often corrupts well-intended efforts for exploring market complexities and new opportunities.

Matter’s primary thesis presents the ‘disruptive edge’ as the place where true untapped value is found. Discovering that value requires, among other things elevating perspectives and relationships, proposing questions which provoke internal discussions about what it is that is that is too complex for the client to solve on their own and, elevating your impact and thus creating unique value for your firm and the client.

My frame of reference for this work is that of one who has founded his own consulting practice with the passion for partnering with progressive leaders and organizations. This new release brings to that practice a fresh perspective on an area that begs new thinking and fresh ideas.

A meaningful roadmap for discovering your value proposition and purpose

I found this book to be a useful roadmap for thinking about the value proposition and differentiation. If you've been thinking about how to define your purpose or mission, this book will be a great read. The book incorporates a lot of research from Peter's company, so the ideas are well thought out. Instead of just glazing over concepts, he dives deep giving the right amount of context and support.

"Matter" shines a beacon for company leaders on how to navigate and prosper

Matter addresses a topic that is on the minds of CEO's daily: how to stand apart from the competition in ways that are relevant and meaningful to both internal and external stakeholders. The book is organized into 3 simple themes: elevate your perspective, elevate your relationship, and elevate your impact with richer detail beneath the surface. Specific examples and case studies – such as how Standard Plumbing's management team found ways to partner with Amazon rather than simply retreat when it entered their parts market – illustrate the book's principles sufficiently for those who to implement new ideas, not just tour. Listen to either of the fine interviews the authors gave on My Quest for the Best to sample the passion and insightfulness that went into Matter: Move Beyond the Competition, Create More Value, and Become the Obvious Choice.
