Very fun, interesting and helpful!

My name is Collette aka Coco Mojo and I bought this book on Amazon recently.

It's good to have it on hand as it's very informative - it helps me understand others and myself. It is yet another helpful tool.

I myself don't see auras, but for some reason I always see a beautiful deep blue glow around my hands, specifically. Reading auras is a very real thing, but I don't think it is an EXACT science as is mathematics, as I've read no two people see the exact same colors or interpret what they mean in the same way. Also, some believe that one's true life colors can be completely suppressed due to societal expectations or pressures. Nancy Tappe says some Indigos "hide" their true colors by donning Violet, etc..

Perception is a strange thing, as we see and interpret everything through our own individual "filters." There is no such thing as objectivity -- there is only subjectivity, and quantum physics states that we alter (the outcome of) that which is observed by the act of observation itself.

Oftentimes, we see what we expect to see -- outcomes are influenced by what we are conditioned to believe is real, true, and possible.

Anyways, there is a lot of truth in this book, and I always "take the best and leave the rest," but most of this book makes sense to me. For instance, I have a friend named Ron who corresponds exactly to the Orange Life Color as described in this book, whereas I correspond to Indigo. (Ron probably has Environmental Tan in his aura, as well. He seems fit the description of both colors.) My friend and I are RADICALLY opposite in nearly every way possible, so much so that it's hard to remain friends! According to this book, Oranges and Indigos "have very little to say to one another." This has proven to be true, as we have very little in common outside of our mutual love of nature and adventure. (However, it helps to know that my friend is okay just as is, and I am okay just as I am...we can't help but be who we are!)

Different colors correspond to different temperaments, and my Orange friend is an ISTJ/ ISTP mix (Introverted Sensing Thinking Judicious type, according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator...he has some "Perception" as well), whereas I am an INFJ (Introverted INtuitive Feeling Judicious type). Other than the fact we're both Introverts, my friend and I have opposite letters -- and opposite COLORS, as well! (chromatically, blue and orange are diametrical opposites. Mahatma Gandhi was an INFJ and Indiana Jones an ISTP...imagine the two of them buddying around together! NOT!!!). These differences are innate and not alterable -- at least, not in the space of a single lifetime (I believe in reincarnation, after all -- but, of course, my Orange friend does not -- nor does he have much interest in such things! Oranges are interested primarily in physical reality rather than spiritual reality, Life Colors says, and this has proven to be true.)

Another helpful diagnostic tool regarding temperament is the book Please Understand Me Book 2 by David Keirsey, which is based on the Myers-Briggs Theory of Temperament (I believe the two books, Please Understand Me and Life Colors, correlate to a large degree).

Another related system (and one that makes a great deal of sense to me!) is clairvoyant Gordon Michael Scallion's "Children of the Rainbow" series, in which Scallion describes the 7 Color Rays (which correspond to the rainbow) as a kind of progressive spiritual ladder that each soul must ascend on its way back to Spirit. In this system, when one masters the Life Color "Red," (the lessons inherent in the slowest and lowest visible light frequency, which we perceive as the color red), one progresses to the next higher frequency, which is Orange, and on up. In this system, each color is like a grade in school, with Red being the most physical/elementary and Violet being the most spiritual/advanced. The goal is to master all life's lessons and "graduate" with flying colors! (In Scallion's system, I correspond with the description for Blue rather than Indigo, whereas my friend Ron is Red rather than Orange. Again, my friend and I are at very different places on the spectrum, as Blue is close in frequency to Indigo, and Red is right next to Orange.) Unlike Oslie, Scallion says it is possible to change one's basic Life Color in a single lifetime.

For those interested in the Enneagram, I am a 4 with a heavy 5 wing, and Ron is a 1 with a moderate 9 wing. Ron would make a good judge in a court of law (he is often stern, dry, inexpressive, incurious, and dispassionate), but he is also a daredevil at times who loves to take risks... the 1 goes to 7 (7 being the number associated with fun and adventure) when in a positive frame of mind, and it is then that Ron can "let his hair down" and play and have a good time, sometimes taking hair-raising risks in the process! I believe it is the influence of the 7 energy that makes Ron so "physical," and not simply the fact that he is male, as I have known many men who are more intellectual, quiet, and studious -- the very opposite of "physical." (Such men would correspond with 5 on the Enneagram, and would be much closer to me in temperament that Ron. That being said, I am rather unusual for an Indigo and a 4/5, as I love the natural world, camping and hiking and exploring. However, a big risk taker I am not! -- at least, not since I've been an adult. When I was a kid, I did a lot of dare-devil stunts: After nearly killing myself [at age 14] doing a handstand on a skateboard on a cement driveway, I realized I was mortal after all, and changed my ways. Ron, however, wouldn't let such a little thing as that "cramp his style"!))

According to yet another numerological system, as described in Dan Millman's book, The Life You Were Born to Live, I am a 24/6, and Ron is a 38/11. (How's that, for colors and letters and numbers!)

Anyways, the point is that all these different systems (primarily speaking of "color systems," here) are similar but not identical. As I said, it's not an EXACT science, it's not like mathematics where 2+2 always equals 4. Most everything in life is this way -- ambiguous, variable, relative, or containing levels of truth. Not "black and white" but "shades of gray." So, as with anything, "take the best and leave the rest." (I have no trouble leaving behind what doesn't make sense to me. I resonate with Galileo, who alone in all the world said Earth revolves around the sun and not the other way around. I don't care if "consensus reality" demands that something is TRUE just because everyone AGREES it is so --I often refuse to "tow the party-line." If it doesn't feel right, if it feels constrictive or stereotyping or stagnant, I will throw it out in order to make room so I can think creatively without being unduly influenced by the status-quo thoughts of others.)

However, though I didn't resonate with everything in Life Colors 100%, I still found it to be a very interesting read, which is why I just had to buy a copy for myself, after perusing it at the library!

Excellent Resource
By Lianne Downey
During a workshop with Donna Eden, Energy Medicine pioneer, my husband and I were fortunate to have her look at our auras and within 30 seconds, tell us what our "life colors" were. But then she was gone and we were asking everyone in sight, "What's a `life color'"? We found Pamala Oslie and her books as one of our first real answers!

With Pam's help we've now learned, not only about ourselves, but how to find & view other people's life colors. We've since used this book as a textbook reference for workshops on the subject, along with her newer book, Love Colors. Both books are tremendously insightful, and great fun to boot! We guarantee you'll soon be reading passages aloud to your friends and family. But if you must choose one book, start with Life Colors. It's the most accessible and widely useful books on the subject that we've found. And it covers many combination colors, such as my husband's Yellow/Violet.

The written test in the front will get you started by helping you determine your own colors, or we like to think of it as "life frequency," since color is an indication of an energy frequency radiating from you. This is an indicator of personality type that stays with you throughout your life. It is not astrology, but a real-time indicator of what your energy self consists of! We've found that it can help guide you into a much more satisfying, fruitful existence. Knowing my life color (Violet) has helped me understand and "forgive" myself for many things, find my way into the right choices, and best of all, relate to other people more easily! Especially when I've figured out their life colors, and read Pam's descriptions so that I understand the way they are probably thinking about things. Wow, that's been priceless!

Be sure to check the accuracy of your written color test results by reading the descriptions of the various colors that Pam gives. She's a gifted visionary on many levels, so her descriptions usually "nail" the personality accurately, and often we've seen people realize that they've answered the test questions as if they were their parent, or sibling, or other influential person in their lives. Finding their own resonance has a wonderfully liberating effect! The book really could change your life. It has certainly enhanced mine!

DO NOT BUY THE KINDLE EDITION
By Natalie
This is a wonderful book, but the Kindle edition does not have a clickable table of contents. If the book is something you're going to read straight through, like a novel, it's fine not to have a clickable table of contents. But for a book like this, where it's all about going back and forth to different sections, reading the ones that apply to you and your friends, it makes absolutely no sense to only be able to get around by flipping one page at a time. Renders the book useless. I asked for my money back on the Kindle version (which they gave), and I ordered the paper version instead.

This is not the first time I've bought a Kindle book and had it be useless for the same reason. Amazon needs to fix this.
