Should be part of the school curriculum

An excellent, simple introduction to the devestating effects of living with an alcoholic or drug addict. This is such a widespread problem in today's society. It is easier to cope with something when there is an awareness of what is really going on. This book is written in such a way that not only is it of use to young people, it is of use to anyone of any age who has been subjected to the insanity that exists when someone you love is out of control. I have read many adult books on the subject. It is important that there exists a children's book that opens the door to understanding the nature of the problem and offers simple coping tools.

this is a good children's book that should be handed out at all Ala-teen meetings and even to adults with drinking and drug problems.

Bought for our niece

We bought this to read to our niece when she visits. We were nervous she wouldn't like the idea of it, but she warmed right up and it was so easy for her to understand. It stimulated questions we could answer and gave her a sense we are on her side.
