They are devoid of any and all physiological restraints. They suffer no mood-changes. Angels inhabit Paradise and the seven heavens. They worship more than human beings because they came before them and they have greater and more powerful faculties than they. They are more pious than human beings because they are innocent and unable to fall into mistakes or wrongdoings. They never ask forgiveness for themselves but always for human beings. This shows us how much they care for us and to what extent God created them to look after us. God made them our guardians because a guardian is more perfect than the one he guards. Angels are more knowledgeable than human beings. The teacher, again, is better than the student. Their knowledge is of two kinds: intellectual and traditional. "Intellectual" means here: "of the essence of reality" or "of the heart." "Traditional" means: "revealed and translated down from above."

The One Book to Read About Angels

This book contains 30 chapters and is about 250 pages. It covers the topic of Angels extensively and sheds insights into their being that are rarely mentioned in other texts. It is written by a Sufi Master and Islamic scholar whose warm personal style shows a deep sincerity and love of God that those interested in Angels should cherish. After reading this book one can not look at the Universe as being the same again, God's love is reaching and his Angels are present at all times in every place. This book should be "required reading" of all those interested in the topic of Angels, I highly recommend it.

About the Author

Ron Tocci is a retired Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering Technology from Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York, where he served on the faculty and as department chair for many years. He is an accomplished author with very successful titles in electronic devices, microprocessors, and, of course, Digital Systems, which he originally published in 1980.

 

Neal Widmer has been teaching digital electronics for over 30 years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, both from Purdue University. Prior to teaching, his professional practice was in clinical engineering departments of two Midwest hospitals. Currently, he is a Full Professor and Associate Department Head in the School of Engineering Technology at Purdue University, teaching concurrent digital systems and advising senior capstone design projects, in addition to his administrative duties. He was co-author of Electronic Troubleshooting from McGraw Hill, most recently published in 2004. In 1992, he was invited to join Ron Tocci in producing the Sixth Edition of this text.

 

Greg Moss is a retired Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University, where he taught digital electronics for over thirty years. He was the sole author of the design-oriented lab manual that accompanied Digital Systems for many years, and has co-authored this text since the Tenth Edition.

A very good basic book

A very good book covering all the basis of digital systems.
It does have a couple minor mistakes, a few over simplifications (for example the JK Flip-Flops won't work if you simulate them from gates following the schematic shown in the book) and a few problems make little sense for someone with experience, but for a didactic purpose more than fits the bill. It gets a bit into circuits, so if you haven't studied anything about transistors you may find those ideas confusing.
All considered, a very good beginners book.

Digital 1 & Digital 2 Book

This book is a must have if you're taking the Digital 1 & Digital 2 classes. This book will also help with understanding the start of digital mathematics, logic, logic control, gates and more. The book is great in these aspects but an older version seemed easier to understand some of the tricks it tries to describe.

I rented this book for a digital systems class, but a good number of the pages weren't cut. As in, two pages were stuck together at the outermost edge because they had not been cut apart.

Very engaging for children that are between 10 and 15..

One of my 10 year old grandsons had surgery on his legs and was bed bound for 6 weeks so I bought this for him. I am now his favorite grandmother and his mom bought me a bouquet of flowers because I am her favorite mother in law. The book is a combination of challenging and easy allowing the child to either do something fun or something that takes more thought. The puzzles are very diverse so it doesn't become boring. His brothers who are 12, 14 and 15 also enjoyed doing some of the puzzles in the book.

My seven-year-old got this for Christmas and he takes it everywhere with him. Hours of screen free entertainment! The games and puzzles are challenging enough to make it interesting, but not so difficult that he can't figure it out.

Great book for any age really

Great book for any age really! I gave this to a friends 13 year old boy who just broke his arm! I wanted him to have an activity that he could use one hand and do comfortably! As soon as he got this - he and his 9 year old sister started working on it immediately. They will get many hours of enjoyment from the book. It's a Great buy!

A classic, fun story for kids

This is classic for little kids because they really love the way the story comes full circle. Our children are around 30 years old and still remember how much they enjoyed this at an early age. We have given this book to parents with young kids many times and it is always a welcome addition to their libraries.

Some reviewers have complained that this book sends a negative message about welfare, people expecting from society, etc.. I think these people have to lighten up - it is simply a funny story aimed at young children.

Meh description of product at best

I was very excited for this little book. It was nice to receive two board books - it would be even nicer if the description listed the two books that were included and not just "if you give a mouse a cookie". Also, my package did not come with a doll, so the description needs to be updated that the doll is not included with this "library" of two books. Overall, 3 stars.

cons: doesn't list the other book included AND doesn't include the doll

My child's favorite book!

Laura Joffe Numeroff is an excellent children's author! My daughter and I have read this book so many times, she can recite word for word throughout the story. The cassette tape that comes along with the story book is excellent, because after the story is read, there is a fill-in-the-blanks game. Your child fills in the blank. (example - "If you give a mouse a cookie, he's going to ask for a glass of _____.) The answer is milk. And this continues throughout the story. I highly recommend this book. No child's library should be without it!

Not for the beginner

As automata gos this is not my first choice. The paper is kind of slick and dos not glue well unless you use tacky Glue.
I have most of the automata books and have put together over 100 projects. I liked KARAKURI by Keisuke Saka and Paper Models That Move by Walter Ruffler and Paper Automata by Rob Ives the best and would start with any of these book first. After you get the hang of it then Amazing Automata Pirates or Dinosaurs can come next. These books are NOt for young children.
